We are looking for a qualified lecturer willing to share their knowledge and skills with pre and post 16 students. You should have relevant industry experience and the ability to deliver Brickwork and multi-trade courses and hold relevant qualification at Level 3 or above. The ability to communicate effectively with young people and adults and enthusiasm to help them achieve their qualification is essential. The Skills Academy has a wide and varied curriculum however we are looking for a new member of the team to predominantly work with 14-19 year old’s.
Experience of working in a teaching/training capacity is desirable but not essential. A willingness to undertake teaching and assessing qualifications will be essential.

Responsibilities will include advising on general health, safety and environment matters and introducing and developing policies and procedures as appropriate. You will also co-ordinate the accident / incident reporting process; including carrying out investigations, and undertake risk assessments (including personal risk assessments for students with disabilities/learning difficulties). You will advise on health and safety content in the curriculum and support the preparation of suitable Health, Safety and Environment course materials and training aids as well as providing specific training courses as required.
A proven track record of providing information and advice regarding health, safety and environment matters and developing effective policies and procedures is essential, as is previous involvement of implementing and / or maintaining ISO45001 and undertaking risk assessments and HS&E audits. Experience within the construction industry is not essential but is desirable.
You will have completed the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or have an equivalent H&S qualification, and willing to be first aid trained. You should also possess Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy e.g. GCSE Maths and English.
